This is a beautiful story that has something for everyone. In terms of sheer visual inventiveness this movie occasionally rivals Mr. Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas,” twisting familiar themes and images into odd and arresting new shapes. Brilliant animation, very funny script, great voice acting probably as good as anything that Burton has done since Edward Scissorhands. Liked the generally supportive parents, and loved the science teacher. I usually love both Tim Burton and cartoons.
