spilled soap in trunk

My folks spilled a bottle of liquid laundry soap in the trunk of their Town Car, took forever to get it out. I had some wet clothing from the washer that got cleaning solvent or laundry detergent on it before it was put into the pool chlorine ,when spilled on a vehicles interior near wires, battery cables, cd changer box, etc the chlorine gas from such will harm wiring, electronics and metal right?how do I clean a turpentine spill from my lawn and patio? Unfortunately I did not get the chance to do anything about it because of the holidays. It's starting to smell, and it's not the good smell.
