Michael Curtis Johnson’s Savage Youth premiered at Slamdance 2018 and was just screened at the Atlanta Film Festival.It is by far the most powerful and disturbing crime drama released thus far this year, in my opinion. The trailer was far more entertaining than the movie.

Last Black Man SF 3. It is definitely worth the time and money! The end was surprising, in the manner in which violence was portrayed. We need more movies like this. Directed by Michael Curtis Johnson. Slice of life from the dredges.

If this is the generation in charge of taking care of my generation and are the future of this world, we better pray for a comet that could help us out, like the dinosaurs.

10 out of 21 found this helpful. An exposé of nihilism and abuse, it is a brutal examination of doomed youth exiled to society's edge. It is visually stunning and it has great acting. We're introduced to three teenagers, who are trying to make it as rappers.

Captivating, excellent acting, direction, filming, sound This film was not what I expected at all. A short film painfully stretched out for 100 minutes. Savage Youth is apparently based on a true story, though I didn't look into the background. Shows how easily some disaffected young people get sucked into their own black hole. A Joliet woman convicted for her involvement in a grisly 2013 double murder got out of prison Friday. If they took out the entire murder portion it would have been a much better movie. That there are only a few reviews and they go from 1 to 10? Massaro initially was one of four people charged with murder for the deaths of Terrance Rankins and Eric Glover, both 22 and from Joliet, in 2013. There's no in between. Well worth watching. I was left with some questions that I don't plan to revisit for clarity, yet felt believable in its execution. Based on true events. Solid 9!

The characters also seemed to make really weird decisions that pretty much no one would actually do in real life out of nowhere but they had to do them to move the stupid plot of this movie along.
