Def worth a watch!Also the camera movement when doing the entity's POV were really smart and well constructedI saw no indication she took the author's advice, in that there is no indication she did the ritual again backwards while asking for forgiveness the whole time, like he told her to do--if she had, it presumably would've worked, and she wouldn't have been conned into killing her mom. there is a scene in the movie where its all youngins talking about the devil and that he doesnt do evil deeds but rather tempts mortals into doing evil deeds. In this ultra-unsettling occult nightmare, teenage Leah (Nicole Muñoz) finds solace from the recent death of her father-and from her strained relationship with her mother (Laurie Holden)--by dabbling in the dark arts. SO yeah i think like some of the commenters suggested its likely to be taken on face value, she was manipulated into thinking her real mother had died and she was living with an imposter etc etc.Personally i think your theory makes for a much better ending!
