Mine used to have a swinging metal handle going across the top which you use to pull it out, but it also weighed the basket down. Living/sitting space is arranged very well. When the plate is not covering the hole, most suction will be from the drain, but if you open the plate, that will allow skimmer suction, while still pulling some from the main drain.I’ve got an old Anthony style skimmer, and was wondering how would a I go about vacuuming the pool if the diverter valve is bot present…There looks like it has no provision for the valve in the bottom of the skimmer. Float Valve Uses The float valve in the bottom is designed to shut off the skimmer and keep it from sucking air into the pump if the water level in the pool gets too low. The only ones I've seen are the flapper door and locking basket type. Skimmer baskets are not supposed to float. There is a bit of a mismatch in the dining part of the room -- and not just along the left wall -- that, if corrected, could achieve balance/symmetry for the room. I too have a long wall (almost 40 feet) and when I was trying to put something together by my entry way I put up small frame moulding and then papered inside of it. It goes under the basket and serves as a means for the pump to continue water flow in the event the water level were to drop too low. We have two skimmer diverters, that are used to switch between skimmer and main drain suction, search part number 85002600 and SPX1075L, both on our website. At least get a rock in there for now. I know what it would do, but not why you would need it. So I was speaking purely from experience and given that moviemaniaxx has what seems to be a pretty voluminous space I was only thinking of my past screw up with the wall paper inside the frame, and my attempt at an inviting area. It goes in the 2nd hole in the skimmer that could be plumbed to the floor or an equilizer line. I have a 2 speed 1.5 HP whisperflow pump , that runs 2 hrs at high speed and 6 hrs at low speed everyday.
If you do not have a floor drain, or equalizer line in the wall or a 2nd skimmer, then it may be capped and there is no point of adding a float diverter. You line up the basket so that the tabs on the basket align with the slots between the skimmer tabs.
