THIS COMING FROM A GUY SAYING , THE MOVIE AT THE END BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES SEEING ALLIE NOT REMEMBERING AND THEN SEEING THEM ,END UP DYING IN THE NURSING HOME TOGETHER .

You only see the front stoop area, but trust me this Charleston native knows the Calhoun Mansion. So I know.I even downloaded the beautiful scene on the lake with the swans from YouTube and that scene alone gets to me!I love the house with the blue shutters the best too.

I haven’t seen them, anyway.

IMO this is a case of the movie being better than the book was.Thanks for posting these Julia, they must be a ton of work (I love movies, but if I had to write these posts I would never remember to take all the photos like you do, I’d be too engrossed in the movie!

I’m on vacation with my family in Charleston and today we saw the Boone Plantation and the Calhoun House and the American Theatre.

Thanks so much! Again, I can state with 100% confidence, the house featured in this movie (The Notebook) is not a Sears Magnolia. I was lucky enough to be able to tour the interior or the manison and when I arrived in the gift shop laid my eyes onto one of the most beautiful sights ever, a blue chair from the dining room scene of the movie complete with the “family’s” gold monogram. The show had a good run and would end on May 10th, 1982. A GUY WOULD SAY IT IS A CHICK FLICK , SO LET IT BE .

Me and my husband want to build that EXACT house. (We all know how well Noah and Allie are living here in the present-day, at a nursing home. It is a beautiful home that he has restored and it looks just like the picture.

This may be the back of it that we’re seeing in the movie, too. I am a HUGE HUGE fan! I did not know that Black River Plantation was a Sears Kit house.

It was interesting to learn more about the Boone Plantation.

I adore the fact that they built it backwards.

I guess I wasn’t looking very closely!All three houses are fantastic, but I have to pick the Black River Plantation as my favourite. I think the DVD commentator was wrong. Hopefully some day I will be able to see these magnificant houses myself.I love all of the houses. Not sure. How nice to enjoy it in the privacy of your ginormous backyard!This was a great post! It was used in a couple of other movies as well including “The In Crowd” and “O”. They did indeed have to tear this house down.
