Overall good book and series; I give the whole series 3 1/2 ish stars; all the books are quick reads that hold your interest while you are reading them, but you will probably forget about them soon after. Also, I have never read Persuasion, however I saw the BBC tv show, and felt that it was a bit gloomy (Although I really like Captain Frederick Wentworth's character.) Let’s face it, 2020 is making us long for other timelines. Instead, I skipped to the second part (which pretty much starts where I knew this was a risk, and it might have paid off a little better had I just been determined enough to skip the first section altogether, once I found it wasn't going well.
